The Ultimate GEN III / LS1 / LS2 / LS6 Pushrod!
COMP Cams® engineers have found that the pushrod is one of the most important members of the valve train and certainly the most taken for granted. Intense dyno testing has proven that factory GEN III pushrods, no matter if the engine is an LS1 or a factory high performance LS2 or LS6, flex excessively under what can only be considered normal engine loads.

This flexure results in a loss of horsepower and overall valve train stability.
This valve train instability becomes increasingly pronounced as performance-enhancing components such as camshafts, nitrous, and high flow EFI intake manifolds are added – eventually leading to pushrod failure, premature wear, and even engine damage. Correcting it by installing a set of COMP Cams® Hi-Tech™ pushrods not only eliminated the risk of damage, it resulted in a gain of 5 hp - not bad considering that a pushrod swap is not the way most people expect to build horsepower.

One-piece Hi-Tech™ pushrods are manufactured from super-clean .080” wall seamless chromemoly tubing to ensure unmatched strength and durability. The ends are precision formed, yielding added thickness in the critical tip area for strength, while maintaining constant wall thickness and concentricity. The pushrods are also heat-treated to ensure compatibility with guide plates and for maximum strength. They are O.D. ground for consistency and black oxide finished with the length and part number laser etched on the O.D. for ease of identification.
