With help from the LSXR™ 102mm Intake Manifold, CRD Engineering powers the Gainsco/Bob Stallings Racing Pontiac #99 to a big win at Virginia International Raceway

With help from a new powerplant, GM was recently able to score a big win in the Grand-Am Daytona Prototype Series at Virginia International Raceway, where the Prototype-powered #99 Pontiac team piloted by Gurney and Fogarty took home the checkered at the Bosch Engineering 250. A big contributor to this victory was a new performance development by the team’s engine builder, CRD Engineering.

In an effort to increase the performance potential of the Prototype’s GM engine, CRD Engineering utilized the new LSXR™ 102mm Intake Manifold from FAST™. Along with a host of other engine modifications & tuning, CRD was able to increase the already impressive horsepower and torque of the LS6-based engine. The Bosch Engineering 250 was the first race with the LSXR™ installed, and it proved to be a wise investment – one that helped power the Gainsco-Bob Stallings race car to its first win of the season.

``The FAST™ manifold truly exceeded my expectations,” said Bob Cronin, Head of Engine Development at CRD Engineering. It provided both the mid-range torque and high rpm horsepower gains we required for this application.``
